Belvedere Palaces

The magnificent Baroque Belvedere Palaces are two splendid residences that now house excellent art museums. built in the early 18th century as a summer residence for Prince Eugene of Savoy, the palaces sit amidst beautiful gardens and fountains.

Upper Belvedere Palace The larger Upper Palace is home to the acclaimed Belvedere Museum. Its light-filled galleries showcase one of the finest collections of Austrian art, including the world’s largest collection of works by the famous painter Gustav Klimt.
