Overview
Tucked away in the vibrant Mariahilf district of Vienna, the Leonardo Vienna Westbahnhof is a 4-star hotel that’s a bit like a cozy home away from home. You know that feeling when you walk into a place and it just feels right? That’s what hit me as soon as I entered the lobby. The warm lighting, comfortable seating, and friendly staff – it all added up to a welcoming atmosphere.
The location is honestly fantastic. It’s just a stone’s throw from the Westbahnhof train station, which makes it super convenient for getting around the city or even venturing out to other parts of Austria. Plus, the hotel is just a short stroll from the bustling Neubaugasse, where you can find a mix of local shops, cafes, and restaurants. I remember stumbling upon a little bakery that had the most amazing apple strudel – it was a must-try!
The rooms are well-appointed and spacious, with a modern touch that makes you feel like you’re staying in a chic apartment rather than a hotel. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the blackout curtains were a godsend when I wanted to catch up on some sleep after a long day of exploring. The soundproofing was pretty good too, so I had a peaceful night’s sleep despite being in a bustling part of the city.
Check-in was a breeze, and the staff were incredibly helpful with recommendations for local attractions and restaurants. They even offered a handy city map, which was a nice touch. The only minor critique I have is that the Wi-Fi could be a bit spotty at times, but it wasn’t a deal-breaker by any means.
In terms of timing, I’d say the best time to visit would be during the spring or fall when the weather is pleasant, and the city is less crowded. The hotel itself wasn’t too noisy during my stay, but I imagine it could get a bit lively during peak tourist seasons.
Overall, if you’re looking for a comfortable, modern hotel in a great location with friendly service, the Leonardo Vienna Westbahnhof is definitely worth considering. It’s not just a place to sleep – it’s a base for exploring all that Vienna has to offer.
To book a hotel in Vienna during the famous Vienna Opera Ball season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts culture enthusiasts and music lovers from around the world.

Amazing location, great breakfast, friendly staff. Greeted at the reception by Ahmed. Went with me out int the rain to help me park the car, helped us also find restaurant.
Location
Very clean
Staff
Excellent location...public transport hub 2 min walk then onlyfrom there 10mins to historic centre.
Parking is a narrow gap, many times is full …. but expensive :(
The room was perfectly fine, it had all you need to store your clothes, sleep and get washed!! We had breakfast just once and there was plenty of choice both hot and cold etc. for a reasonable price. The location was great, out in a quiet suburb but minutes away from a tram and underground station - you are only 4/5 stops from the centre depending on where you are going. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the Bar is a great place to warm up and relax at night after a full day of sightseeing and it not expensive.
Good location. Close to train, public transport, city center, museums, castles, shops. Comfortable bed. Coffee, tea and a kettle, complimentary bottle of sparkling water. Private garage (small but exists).
Great location, parking. Close to subway and shopping street.
Wonderful location for exploring Vienna! The hotel has pretty much everything you could need for a short city break.
Well positioned hotel with super approachable staff.
Fantastic location near a major subway station and a theater I was attending.
